![]() Erick Montes | Montes is a product of Edgewood High School. Upon graduation, he attended Missouri Valley College where he majored in Physical Education. During his tenure, Montes participated in Football and Baseball at the collegiate level. Montes opted to return back to Edgewood ISD. He has 19 years with the district and 15 years at Kennedy High School. Montes currently serves as the football secondary coach and head baseball coach. |
![]() Bryan Myler | Mr. Myler is a graduate of Thomas Edison High School. He graduated from Texas Lutheran University where he received a Bachelor�s degree in Kinesiology. This is his 2nd tour at John F. Kennedy High School, he was here from 1995-1999. Since then he has taught and coached at Lanier High School and recently at Robert E. Lee High School. Coach Myler has 2 wonderful boys, Devin,now a S.A.P.D officer - 28 and Bryan - 25, now a Teacher /Coach at Holmes High School. He is also a grandpa to 4-year-old Jace and 1 year old Rilyn. GO! ![]() David Alonzo | Alonzo is a product of John Jay High School. He also is a graduate of Sul Ross State University, class of 1991. At Sul Ross, Alonzo majored in Kinesiology and played collegiate football. This year marks Alonzo's 11th year of coaching, and his 8th year at John F. Kennedy High School. His current assignments included Football special teams coordinator, Head boys basketball coach, and Head boys/girls golf coach. |
![]() Michael Guyer | Guyer enter his first year of teaching/coaching, but is by no means new to the profession of management or new to the game of football. Guyer has over 13 years of experience in business management and as a football official. His experience combined with enthusiasm, may prove to be the explosive combination that Rockets are looking for in their newest teacher/coach. Guyer is assigned to coach football and soccer. As a football coach, he will assist with the defensive backs. |
Johnny Walker |
As a graduate of Holmes High School, Coach Walker was a dual-sport (football/baseball) athlete for the University of Texas Longhorns. Walker also had the opportunity of playing professional sports in both the NFL (Green Bay Packers) and MLB (Atlanta Braves). Upon his retirement, Walker has spent the last 11 years coaching at various levels and school districts around the state. This is Walker's first year at Edgewood ISD and he is excited about joining our Rocket family. His JFK coaching assignments include football and baseball. |
![]() Gerald Bermea | Bermea is a graduate of Burbank high school. He would go on to letter 2 years in football while attending Howard Payne University. He would eventually finish up his bachelors at the University of Texas at San Antonio with a degree in Kinesiology. Bermea enters his 8th year as a professional educator and has had stints at Pleasanton, Beeville, and Somerset. This is his 2nd year at Edgewood ISD. His current assignment will be coaching football and soccer. |

Coach �Covo� is a graduate of East Central High School and University of Texas San Antonio. He earned a B.A. in Science/Kinesiology and a Masters in Educational Leadership. Coach �Covo� brings 20 years of coaching experience, which include stints at Austin ISD, SAISD, East Central, and Laredo ISD. Coach �Covo� will be coaching the wide receivers and J.V. basketball team. He currently teaches at Brentwood Middle School as a Special Education facilitator. |
